At least four Filipino migrant workers are recovering in Riyadh hospitals after being injured in a deadly attack at King Khalid International Airport, according to the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers.

At least four Filipinos were among those injured in the attack at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday, October 10, 2026, the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) confirmed. According to Labor Attache Dominador Salangga of the Migrant Workers Office (MWO)-Riyadh, three of the injured are currently in intensive care units, while the fourth patient is preparing for hospital discharge.

DMW and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) teams in Riyadh are actively monitoring the condition of the injured Filipinos and providing necessary assistance. The department confirmed that no Filipino fatalities have been reported related to the attack.

The incident, reported by Reuters to have caused at least 12 deaths and over 300 injuries, is the deadliest attack in Saudi Arabia in over a decade, attributed to expanded assaults by Houthi forces supported by Iran. DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac initially reported three Filipinos injured, with two in intensive care.

In response, DMW issued safety advisories to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Saudi Arabia, urging them to avoid potential target sites such as military facilities and refineries. Filipinos are advised to stay away from crowded areas in airports, follow announcements from the Philippine Embassy, consulates, and government offices in Saudi Arabia, and verify travel plans directly with airlines to avoid risks.

Additionally, Filipinos are reminded not to record or post any images or videos of attacks on social media to comply with Saudi laws and avoid penalties.
