The Philippine government has initiated a P10-per-liter fuel subsidy program for public utility vehicle drivers amid rising fuel costs due to Middle East tensions, with specific gas stations in Metro Manila selected for the pilot.
In response to increasing fuel prices caused by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, Philippine President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. announced a fuel subsidy of P10 per liter for public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and operators. The government’s pilot program began on Tuesday and targets selected gas stations across Metro Manila where the subsidy will be applicable.
The list of participating gas stations includes:
– Quezon City (Fairview): Win Power Enterprises operated by Unioil Petroleum Philippines, Inc. located at L25 & 27 B2, Commonwealth Avenue; Aquivel Petron operated by Petron Corporation at Lot 3, Block 3, Commonwealth Avenue
– Quezon City (Sta. Cruz): Heroes Hill Shell Service Station by Shell Pilipinas Corporation at 1101 Quezon Avenue (westbound), corner Gen. Lim St.
– Quezon City (La Loma): Gazz Up, Inc. operated by Seaoil Philippines, Inc. at 154 A. Bonifacio St., corner Scout Alcaraz St., N.S. Amoranto

– Malabon City (Longos): Petron Extreme Gas Station, operated by Petron Corporation at C-4 Road, Brgy. Longos (replacing City Line Petron Service Center)
This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on PUV drivers and operators amidst volatile fuel prices. The subsidy application will be limited to the mentioned locations for the pilot phase, with potential for expansion depending on results. Official statements from Malacañang Palace confirmed the rollout, emphasizing the government’s commitment to supporting public transport sectors during challenging economic conditions tied to global conflicts.
