The newly elected representatives to the CA from the House side are Deputy Speaker and La Union 1st District Representative Francisco Paolo Ortega V; TGP Party-list Representative Jose Teves Jr.; Quezon City 3rd District Representative Franz Pumaren; Quezon 1st District Representative Wilfrido Mark Enverga; and Negros Occidental 6th District Representative Mercedes Alvarez. These members replaced former representatives Jesus Romualdo, Robert Raymond Estrella, Eddiebong Plaza, Roy Loyola, and Arnie Fuentebella.
The special session was called under Proclamation 1318 to address eight priority legislative measures and to facilitate the CA’s review and confirmation of executive appointments, including eight Cabinet members and five generals of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, as well as diplomatic appointments.
