An OCTA Research survey reveals that 69% of Filipino adults favor holding an impeachment trial against Vice President Sara Duterte amid ongoing allegations.
According to the latest survey conducted by OCTA Research titled Tugon ng Masa (TNM), 69% of adult Filipinos support the initiation of an impeachment trial against Vice President Sara Duterte to address allegations levied against her. The survey, carried out from March 19 to 25, 2026, showed that 28% of respondents opposed the idea, while 3% remained undecided.
Regional variations were observed with the Visayas region demonstrating the highest support at 83%, followed by the National Capital Region at 81%, and Balance Luzon at 69%. Mindanao showed the lowest support at 61% and the highest opposition at 38%.
Support also varied by socioeconomic class, with all but the lowest bracket (Class E, at 54%) showing majority favorability towards the impeachment trial. Age-wise, younger Filipinos aged 18-24 exhibited the strongest support (77%), while those aged 45-54 showed comparatively less support (60%).
Rural areas showed higher backing (75%) than urban areas (63%). Female respondents were marginally more supportive (70%) than males (68%).
The survey additionally found that 87% of respondents were aware of the impeachment case, with 12% unaware and 1% undecided. OCTA Research conducted 1,200 face-to-face interviews with adults aged 18 and above. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3% at a 95% confidence level.
This data highlights significant public engagement with ongoing political developments concerning Vice President Sara Duterte.
