Following upon the distinguished tradition of the Athens Law School, we are happy and proud to announce that Athanasios Christou, Irini-Aikaterini Vossika, Ioanna-Maria Varra and Irini Vasilaki, our team of undergraduate students, has qualified for the final round of the ELSA European Human Rights Moot Court Competition 2019-2020. As with all similar events at the time of the pandemic, the final round will be conducted virtually on 2-4 June 2020.

The team is coached by Myrto Stavridi, a graduate student and former winner of the competition, with the assistance of Konstantinos Vythoulkas, undergraduate student, under the academic supervision of Associate Professor Maria Gavouneli. Their excellent performance in the regional rounds, held in Göttingen on 21-23 February 2020, secured them a position among the 18 finalists of the competition while Athanasios Christou won the Best Orator award.

The competition is organized by the European Law Student Association (ELSA) in cooperation with the Council of Europe and the final round takes place at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. Law schools from all Member-States of the Council of Europe participate in the competition.

The team was sponsored by NOMIKI BIBLIOTHIKI and wishes to thank them most warmly for their unfailing support.
