During the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte, Senator-judge Erwin Tulfo showed video evidence from the National Bureau of Investigation featuring resort-like properties allegedly associated with Duterte and her family, raising questions about undeclared wealth.
On the 38th day of Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial, Senator-judge Erwin Tulfo presented surveillance videos from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) showing two large properties that appeared resort-like, including one estate with two swimming pools. These properties are allegedly linked to Vice President Duterte and her family. Tulfo questioned a financial forensic analyst, Atty. Alexander Cabrera, about whether these assets were declared in Duterte’s Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN). Although Cabrera acknowledged the value of the properties, he stated that he could not confirm if these were among the undeclared wealth estimated at approximately PHP 817.87 million from 2022 to 2025, citing the need for further investigation into property titles and documentation. The House prosecution team, represented by Rep. Chel Diokno, confirmed they would look into the matter and cross-check the NBI’s findings with Duterte’s declared assets, despite not having previously seen the videos. This development adds to the ongoing scrutiny over Duterte and her husband Manases Carpio concerning alleged undeclared assets during the impeachment proceedings.
