The Senate has stipulated that the filing window is from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on June 1. Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano has denied any connection between recent amendments allowing online participation or virtual voting by senators and the impeachment trial, emphasizing that the impeachment rules have already been adopted and changes would require additional publication, delaying proceedings. The Senate’s Office of Sergeant-at-Arms is coordinating with the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) for enhanced security measures during the impeachment trial starting July 6. NCRPO spokesperson Police Major Hazel Asilo stated that deployment of barriers and personnel will depend on coordination with Senate management, with current focus on ensuring smooth traffic flow even amidst potential protests around the Senate premises.
