Unique Times

A recent survey highlights the high workplace happiness among Filipino employees, emphasizing meaningful work and career growth over salary alone.

A survey conducted by Jobstreet by SEEK reveals that Filipino workers are the second happiest in the Asia-Pacific region, ranking just behind Indonesia. The Workplace Happiness Index: Philippines 2025 surveyed over 10,500 employed individuals regionally, including 1,000 Filipinos aged 18 to 64 from various parts of the Philippines between October and November 2025. About 77% of Filipino respondents described themselves as somewhat or extremely happy at work, compared to Indonesia’s 82%. The study indicates that Filipino workers highly value meaningful work, personal wellbeing, and career development alongside salary and flexible work arrangements. Regional differences show the Visayas at 82% happiness, the National Capital Region at 77%, and Luzon and Mindanao each at 76%.

The findings also note that 77% of respondents feel valued at work, and 74% find their jobs fulfilling, highlighting strong employee satisfaction. While salary remains important, a strong sense of purpose and alignment with company goals has a greater impact on engagement and job satisfaction. However, the study points out challenges such as stress and burnout, with 41% controlling their stress and 38% feeling burnt out. Additionally, 41% express concerns about artificial intelligence’s potential job impact. According to Dannah Majarocon, Managing Director of Jobstreet by SEEK Philippines, the organization aims to support employers in fostering workplaces that encourage talent engagement and sustainable growth.
