The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) introduces a four-day on-site work arrangement with Fridays set for work-from-home to support government energy conservation efforts during the ongoing Middle East conflict.

MANILA — In response to the government’s drive to conserve energy due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) has adjusted its work schedule by adopting a four-day on-site workweek. According to LRTA Administrator Hernando Cabrera, employees assigned to non-frontline services will report to their workplaces from Monday to Thursday, while work-from-home arrangements will be in place on Fridays. This measure aims to maintain operational efficiency, sustainability, and continued reliable commuter service while reducing energy consumption. The LRTA assured the public that train operations and frontline services will continue without disruption, ensuring smooth and safe transit experiences. It remains unconfirmed whether the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) will implement similar adjustments for personnel on the LRT-1 and MRT-3 lines.
