The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has sanctioned wage hikes effective November 2026, benefiting workers in Western Visayas and SOCCSKSARGEN, including incremental raises for household helpers.
The Philippine Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has authorized an increase in the minimum wage rates for workers in the Western Visayas and SOCCSKSARGEN regions, scheduled for implementation beginning November 19, 2026. In Western Visayas, wages for workers in non-agriculture, industrial, and commercial establishments with more than 10 employees will rise from ₱550 to ₱590 per day, marking a ₱40 increase. For establishments with fewer than 10 employees, as well as for agricultural workers, the daily minimum wage will increase to ₱565 from the previous rate of ₱525 to ₱520 respectively. Household helpers in the region will receive an additional ₱500 monthly, raising their minimum salary to ₱7,000. In SOCCSKSARGEN, the current minimum wage spans ₱443 to ₱460 per day. The wage increase will be implemented in two phases: an initial ₱16 per day increase starting November 19, which will raise wages to ₱459 daily for agriculture workers and ₱476 for non-agriculture workers; followed by a ₱25 daily increase effective January 1, 2027, further elevating wages to ₱484 and ₱501 respectively. Household helpers in SOCCSKSARGEN will also see a ₱450 monthly wage increase beginning November 19, bringing their monthly salary to ₱6,450. These adjustments aim to support the livelihood of workers amid rising living costs and are part of the government’s ongoing labor policy initiatives.
