A recent Pulse Asia survey reveals a decline in trust ratings for Philippine President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., while Vice President Sara Duterte's trust ratings remain stable among adult Filipinos.
According to a Pulse Asia Research Inc. survey conducted between June 28 and July 6, 2026, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. experienced a notable decrease in both approval and trust ratings. His national trust rating dropped by 7 percentage points, standing at 28%, with 51% of respondents expressing distrust. Meanwhile, 21% were undecided about his trustworthiness. The survey highlights that distrust in the President increased significantly across regions such as the rest of Luzon and socioeconomic classes ABC and D. Specifically, disapproval was highest in Mindanao at 79%, followed by the Visayas at 53%.
Conversely, Vice President Sara Duterte maintained a steady trust rating of 58%, with her distrust rating at 27%. Trust in the Vice President increased in some areas, including the rest of Luzon and among the ABC socioeconomic class, where distrust decreased. Her approval rating was 56% nationally, with the highest approval in Mindanao (89%) and among respondents in the E socioeconomic class (70%).
The survey involved face-to-face interviews with 2,400 adults aged 18 and above, and carries a margin of error of ±2 percentage points nationally at a 95% confidence level. The findings provide insight into the public perception of the Philippine leadership amid evolving political dynamics.
