President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos urged oil companies to fully implement the rollback of fuel prices, expecting major reductions in diesel and gasoline ahead.
On April 18, 2026, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos publicly called on oil companies to promptly and fully apply the rollback on fuel prices without delay. He stated that diesel prices are expected to drop by ₱24.94 per liter, gasoline by ₱3.41 per liter, and kerosene by ₱2.00 per liter, marking a larger price cut compared to the previous week. The Department of Energy confirmed that another round of fuel price rollbacks is anticipated next week, commonly announced every Monday by fuel retailers. Additionally, President Marcos emphasized ongoing support for the transportation sector, continuing a ₱10 discount on gasoline for public utility vehicles (PUVs) and buses, including a Service Contracting Program for PUV drivers. Recognizing current challenges, the Land Transportation Office will extend the validity of driver’s licenses, conductors’ licenses, student-driver’s permits, and motor vehicle registrations valid until April 2026 by another three months without penalties, amidst the Middle East crisis. Marcos reinforced the administration’s commitment to ensure these economic relief measures reach the Filipino people effectively.
