Following Senator Mark Villar's move, Raffy Tulfo indicates that another senator from the minority might transfer to the 14-member majority bloc, potentially altering Senate dynamics.
Senator Raffy Tulfo has hinted at the possibility that another senator currently part of the minority bloc may transfer to the Senate majority, which now comprises 14 members. This remark came shortly after Senator Mark Villar formally joined the majority bloc and was elected as a member of the Commission on Appointments, as well as chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Works. In an ambush interview, Tulfo expressed his belief that a minority senator might soon switch allegiance to the majority but refrained from naming the individual to avoid preempting the development. When asked about the timeline for such a move, he stated, “Time will tell.” Additionally, Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson mentioned that Senator Loren Legarda is welcomed to return to the majority bloc once she returns to the Philippines, as she has been on extended medical leave since August 3. The evolving membership of the Senate majority bloc may affect legislative priorities and dynamics in the Philippine Senate.
