In a statement released on Friday, Arroyo reaffirmed her confidence in Dy’s leadership, emphasizing that their support for one another dates back many years, including ties with his late father. Arroyo herself served as Speaker of the House from 2018 to 2019 after the leadership upheaval that removed then-Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez. The reports about a possible ouster of Speaker Dy surfaced recently, but Arroyo clarified that such claims are unfounded.
