Malacañang Palace refutes reports of a road harassment incident involving a 'presidential son' along the North Luzon Expressway, clarifying that no such event occurred.
On February 22, 2026, Malacañang Palace officially denied reports regarding an alleged road harassment incident involving a “presidential son” along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) that reportedly happened earlier in the evening. Presidential Communications Secretary Dave Gomez sent a statement via Viber to news organizations asserting, “There is no such incident involving any presidential son.”
Social media posts had circulated claiming that a motorcade of three vehicles blocked the car of the so-called presidential son. It was reported that approximately 15 men, allegedly from vehicles registered in a Bulacan municipality, exited their cars and confronted the convoy. The incident was said to have followed the presidential son’s vehicle overtaking the Bulacan-registered cars, which were occupying all three lanes of the expressway.
NLEX is a major toll highway connecting Metro Manila to Central Luzon, running about 84 kilometers from Balintawak in Quezon City to Pampanga at its northern connection with the Subic–Clark–Tarlac Expressway.
Authorities have yet to provide further official clarification on the matter, but the Palace strongly denies the occurrence of an incident involving any member of the presidential family. This statement serves to address and dispel circulating rumors and reports regarding the event.
