GAIGHAT, Nepal — The Nepali government has taken a significant step towards revitalizing the Udayapur Cement Industry by initiating the appointment process for a new general manager through an open competition. This move, announced by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies via a notice in the state-run Gorkhapatra newspaper, aims to reinforce leadership and advance the factory’s return to consistent production.
A committee previously established by the ministry is overseeing the recruitment efforts. Local residents and former employees have expressed optimism that the appointment marks progress toward reestablishing the factory’s regular operations, which are crucial for regional development and employment.
Prathamlal Chaudhary, a former employee, highlighted that the process has rekindled hopes for the industry’s operational stability.
