The Philippine Senate has announced its agenda for November and December 2026, including the continuation of the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte and sessions for the proposed 2027 national budget.

The Philippine Senate has officially released its schedule for the final two months of 2026, highlighting key dates for the ongoing impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte alongside the deliberations on the 2027 national budget. The impeachment trial is set to resume on November 9 and will continue across several designated dates in November, with sessions generally running from morning through late afternoon or early evening. Full-day trial sessions are planned on November 10, 12, 13, 19, and 20, reflecting the Senate’s commitment to advancing the proceedings despite scheduling challenges. November 11 and 23 will see the trial pause during Senate plenary sessions, ensuring legislative business can continue alongside judicial responsibilities. The trial will observe a suspension on Bonifacio Day, November 30. Concurrently, the Senate plenary will conduct interpellations on the proposed 2027 budget from November 23 through December 1. The budget approval process is slated for early December, with second reading approval on December 3 and third reading approval by December 7. Subsequent bicameral conference committee meetings will take place from December 10 to 12, culminating in the signing and ratification of the budget conference report on December 21 and 22 respectively. Senate impeachment trial Presiding Officer Francis Escudero has indicated that the trial will lose eight days in November due to scheduling conflicts, including budget hearings and regional summit commitments. This detailed timetable allows for the management of significant legislative and judicial functions crucial to the country’s political and fiscal cycle.
