The Department of Budget and Management announced the allocation of funds for bonuses and cash gifts to support and recognize government employees ahead of the holiday season.
The Philippine government has earmarked a total of 82.9 billion pesos to cover year-end bonuses and cash gifts for public sector employees, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) confirmed on November 8, 2026. This financial support aims to acknowledge the dedication and service of government workers, especially during the holiday period.
According to DBM Budget Circular No. 2024-3, qualified government employees are entitled to a year-end bonus equivalent to one month’s basic pay as of October 31, 2026, in addition to a cash gift of 5,000 pesos. The funds allocated include 73.449 billion pesos for bonuses and 9.549 billion pesos for cash gifts.
DBM Secretary Kim Robert C. De Leon emphasized the importance of timely distribution, instructing all government agencies to ensure employees receive these benefits with their first November salary. The department has already released the necessary funds to facilitate this process.
To be eligible for the full year-end bonus and cash gifts, government personnel must have rendered at least four months of aggregate service (120 days) between January 1 and October 31, 2026. This includes various forms of employment such as regular, contractual, or casual positions across national and local government units.
This initiative not only provides financial relief to government workers and their families but also serves as recognition of their hard work and continued commitment to public service. The timely release is particularly significant as it coincides with the Christmas season, when additional financial support is often needed.
