The Philippine Bureau of Customs announced an offer totaling over P7 million for four seized Maserati luxury vehicles during a recent negotiated sale, pending Department of Finance approval.
The Philippine Bureau of Customs (BOC) revealed on Sunday that an offer amounting to 7,055,664 Philippine pesos was made to acquire four Maserati luxury cars during a recent negotiated sale. The vehicles included two 2021 Maserati Levante Modena models with accepted offers of P1,594,388 and P1,601,000 respectively, and two 2021 Maserati Levante GT Hybrid models, each with offers accepted at approximately P1.93 million.
Fast Car Traders Corporation submitted the accepted bids for the four vehicles. However, the sale has not yet been finalized, as all agreed prices still require approval from the Department of Finance (DOF) before the transactions can be completed.
BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno emphasized the importance of ensuring that seized vehicles under BOC custody are disposed of in a legal and transparent manner that benefits the government and the public. He stated, “Our goal is to ensure that the vehicles in BOC custody are put to good use by the government in a legal and transparent manner. It is essential that all required processes and approvals are followed to guarantee that every transaction is fair and that the public interest is protected.”
The DOF has called for increased collection efforts from both the Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Bureau of Customs, highlighting that the government’s total revenues are expected to reach 5.5 trillion pesos by the end of the current administration. This auction is part of broader efforts to utilize government assets effectively and increase revenue collection.
