In 2023, Bali’s Governor Wayan Koster introduced a detailed list of Do’s and Don’ts for tourists, outlining twelve obligations and eight prohibitions to encourage respectful behaviors during visits. Third, road safety remains a critical concern, with many tourists renting mopeds to explore the island. Wearing helmets for both drivers and passengers is mandatory, along with carrying an international driving license appropriate to the motorbike’s engine capacity and having comprehensive insurance coverage that clearly states terms for incidents.
Bali’s approach balances a warm welcome with clear expectations, underscoring that cultural respect, legal compliance, and personal safety are essential to preserving its friendly and secure environment for all tourists.
