GoreBox Developer Declines Senate Invitation to Investigate Tacloban School Shooting

Felix Filip, the developer of the mobile game GoreBox linked to the deadly Tacloban school shooting, refused to attend the Senate investigation set for July 1, prompting calls for embassy assistance to secure his participation.

Felix Filip, the creator of the mobile game GoreBox, which authorities associate with the fatal school shooting in Tacloban City, has declined the invitation to participate in the Senate investigation into the tragedy. Senator Risa Hontiveros, chairperson of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality, expressed disappointment over Filip’s decision, noting that she had many questions she wanted to ask him directly.

Senator Hontiveros announced that she will seek assistance from the German Embassy to facilitate Filip’s attendance at the legislative inquiry scheduled for July 1. She emphasized that the committee remains open to his participation should he reconsider, affirming their continued interest in hearing from him. The incident continues to draw legislative and law enforcement scrutiny as investigations proceed.

This development occurs amid ongoing investigation efforts following the shooting, which also involves recommendations for charges against other individuals tied to the incident. The Senate’s initiative reflects a broader commitment to understand the circumstances surrounding the tragedy and prevent future occurrences.
