The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has sanctioned three driving schools in Tarlac for breaching driver education and certification regulations, including irregular issuance of completion certificates and providing exam answer keys.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has imposed penalties on three driving schools located in Tarlac due to violations of driver education and certification rules. According to an official statement from the LTO, two of the schools were first-time offenders, while the third had previous violations reported in 2024 and earlier in 2026. Key violations include issuing practical driving course (PDC) and theoretical driving course (TDC) certificates without students completing the mandatory training hours and failing to conduct required instructions. Additionally, the schools were accused of distributing examination answer keys to their students. As a result, two schools were fined 50,000 Philippine Pesos each and had their accreditation suspended for six months. The third school, which committed more frequent violations such as insufficient course hours, not adhering to the approved syllabus, and repeated irregular certificate issuance, was fined 250,000 Philippine Pesos and had its accreditation suspended for two years and six months. These sanctions followed a comprehensive LTO investigation and prior issuance of show cause orders and preventive suspensions in January 2026. The LTO emphasized that accreditation is a privilege that demands ongoing compliance and highlighted the importance of driving schools in ensuring only well-trained individuals proceed with licensing. It reaffirmed its One Strike Policy and commitment to maintaining public safety and the integrity of the driver’s licensing system.
